If your prints seem to be lighter since changing your cartridge then try adjusting the toner density setting for your printer. Every printer is slightly different. Sometimes this is in the menu on the printer, sometimes you can do this from your computer from the printer properties window (usually the advanced menu). You may have to do an online search for your printer model to find the information.
